Pick 1: Ipswich WIN ( 1.72 at Bet365)
Pick 2: Over 2.5 (1.53 at Bet365)
It may be a cliche, but Ipswich really were involved in a game of two halves at Hull last weekend. Dreadful in the first half, a rousing team talk from manager Paul Jewell saw a much better display, and two goals from Grant Leadbitter turned a 2-0 deficit into a 2-2 draw. That’s two good comebacks on the road in a week from Paul Jewell’s side, as they followed up their 1-1 draw at leaders Southampton a week earlier. They’ve looked stretched at times and had a bit of luck in those two matches, but with just one defeat in eight they’ll be confident for the visit of Peterborough. The bad news comes as Paul Jewell admitted that it might be difficult to keep Grant Leadbitter beyond the end of his contract in the summer.
Peterborough had one of their best days of the season last weekend, beating play-off hopefuls Blackpool 3-1 at home to ease any growing relegation concerns. Darren Ferguson’s side had recorded only one win in their previous 11 games, but looked back to their free-flowing attacking best against a below-par Blackpool side. Tyrone Barnett, the recent loan signing from Crawley, was influential, scoring the first goal and setting up the second for Paul Taylor, and he looks like being a good acquisition. Peterborough had their highest win of the 2011-12 campaign against Ipswich back in August, when they thumped them 7-1, but Ipswich are a better side now. Expect lots of goals, and a likely home win.
GOOD LUCK
